There are several reasons besides poor economic conditions in the rural areas that contribute in cause of disability, one of them being ignorance and lack of access to information on disability types and its causes. When it comes to ignorance and cultural dogmas that refrains us from access to proper and timely awareness on disability, even the urban population seems to be unaware of potential causes contributing to disability. Therefore, in consideration of limited resources in spreading out awareness to community people from the urban settings (while the professionals and committed activists concentrate on rural settings), a group of potential youth were brought together to consider the ways they can contribute towards prevention of disability, spread awareness and act at their capacities in the communities. After clarifying on the objectives, they were oriented on potential contribution they can practically give to the cause of disability while attaining higher experience and practical achievements on their related field.

A group of 18 youth came to realize and committed to act on their DECLARATION by accepting the title of Patan CBR YOUTH AMBASSADORS FOR DISABILITY! One of the team in it related to IT focused on information sharing and thus named this approach “DisEbility”. We are that team!
